WE ARE ON!
Well folks after much soul searching, begging and recalculating of finances we are running with 45 cars.
We do not want to let those crews who have entered down and want to keep Hamsterley run locally. If we were not running the forest could be lost to rallying or bigger events.
We have a lot of work to do this week but the event will be top quality and provide a cracking route.
Notes are being posted now by Pattersons....
ALL NOISE, SCRUTINEERING AND SERVICE WILL BE IN ONE LOCATION AT GLAXO.

Route Detail
a little more info on the route.
The 3 stages in Hamsterley feature around 3 miles of road not used last year of which about 1.5 have not been used since the 80's. As last year however we have aimed to maximise the use of as many roads as possible. A short loop we wanted to use is now being logged so we have avoided that. Stang is undergoing regrading and looks in mint condition. Once again we will run that at 30 seconds
As for the road section out of stang - we are NOT using the poor bit of forest track this year nor are we using the rock part of Barnigham white uphill. Not going to give any more away at the moment.
Pattersons are recceing late this week on thier way back home from the recce for the Plains.

Hi folks
Road book is completed, Dave is on with the maps and they are nearly completed.
We have over 31 entries to date and more to come- however we need your support to make the event happen.
There are a large contingent of Marshals coming all the way from Mull to run a stage.
Camping is available as last year albeit not in the Glaxo car park at the Moorcock Inn, Eggleston.

Debrief & 2010
We have just had our debrief meeting after this years rally where we discussed what we did right, but more importantly, the main discussions were about how we can improve.
We made good use of the comments added by competitors and officials and identified areas which we can change slIghtly for the good of everyone.
Based on what you have just read regarding improvements..... You are correct in assuming we will be back in 2010. Theres not a lot to be said at this moment, but the Clerk of the Course will put more information about next years rally on here soon.

Tree Felling
Today, Clerk of the Course Derek, Equiptment manager Les and myself Addressed the problem of overgrown trees in Stang. Stang Forest doesnt get used so often for rallies and some areas are narrow with many trees overgrown, in the path of the stage route and impeding the view round some bends. Although we have not completed the work, we have cut back a large section of the route with great success.

We are even working to have some roadworks done on part of the road section such is our commitment to providing a quality event.
